What women say:

"Coming here has helped me turn my life around."

"Thank you for the information on alternatives to HRT. I've found it very useful and helpful."

"It is really lovely to talk to someone who doesn't dismiss the problems I'm having."

"I've been to my doctor but he never has time."

About Us

Wellwomen Information, a Women's Health Resource and Counselling Service, was established in 1983 by a group of women who wanted to reach out to thousands of other women. Twenty-five years later, Wellwomen Information and Sehatmand Aurat (The Asian Women's Health Project based at Wellwomen Information) continue to base their work on the principle of providing a safe place and time to support its clients in taking control of their choices, health and lives in a way that helps not only these women but also their families and communities.

A Brief Outline of Our Aims

Wellwomen Information is a charitable organisation, based in inner-city Bristol, helping women with physical and mental health problems. Its aim is to support users to take an active part in their own health care. We do this by providing time to talk and the opportunity to explore health issues, together with good quality health information. Our services include three confidential health Drop-Ins and Helpline and a Counselling and Psychotherapy service. Short-term counselling offers an emotional resting spot to help users through a crisis; long-term psychotherapy supports women in developing the capacity for change and better health. Our services support isolated women and women who are most in need, and we work with all women on an equal basis.
